Installation Guidance
For the best lifting performance, install the struts with the cylinder uppermost when the lid is closed. Correct bracket position and hinge geometry directly affect the usable lifting force.
In most applications, the brackets are fitted:
- One bracket on the lid interior
- One bracket on the frame or side wall
- The strut mounted at an angle to deliver progressive opening support
If you are replacing an existing gas strut, match the original length and force as closely as possible for predictable operation.
What You Receive

- 4 × zinc-plated L mounting brackets
- 10mm ball stud fittings (M6 thread)
Important Notes
- Force rating applies per strut (500N each)
- Lid weight guidance excludes hinges and other hardware
- Mounting geometry can increase or reduce the effective assistance
- Gas struts are support devices and should not be treated as locking safety stays
If you need help choosing the correct specification, send us your lid depth, approximate lid weight and a photo of the mounting area.
