Recommended Lid Weight: Suitable for lids approximately 20–36kg when installed correctly. Actual lifting performance depends on hinge position, lid material and mounting geometry.
Recommended Mounting Position:
- Install one strut on each side of the lid
- Mount approximately 20–30% down from the hinge on the lid panel
- Position the lower L bracket around 80–300mm below the top inside edge of the tool box/storage box frame (depending on internal depth)
- Ensure the strut is slightly compressed when fully closed to maintain correct preload tension
⚠ If the lid is heavier than 36kg, a higher force rating may be required. If the lid is lighter than 20kg, the struts may feel too strong.
